Today’s Youth: Screen Time and Mental Health with Jean Twenge

The Volunteer Center, Torrance Unified School District and South Bay Families Connected are proud to present Today’s Youth: Screen Time and Mental Health, a free event featuring noted researcher and author Dr. Jean Twenge on Thursday, October 18, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Torrance High School Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and information on youth wellness resources will be available in the auditorium’s lobby.

Parents, caregivers, teens (9th grade and above) and groups working with youth won’t want to miss hearing from Dr. Twenge, author of “iGen: Why Today’s Super-Connected Kids Are Growing Up Less Rebellious, More Tolerant, Less Happy-and Completely Unprepared for Adulthood,” as she discusses her groundbreaking research on teens and screens. Learn more about what influences are shaping iGen, and how we can harness the positive trends while mitigating the negative ones.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with youth wellness resources in the auditorium’s lobby, and the presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. All attendees who register for the event will be guaranteed a seat.
