HAPA, a Hawaiian Dance and Music Showcase at Redondo Beach PAC
HAPA, Hawaii’s premiere musical duo returns to the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center this Saturday featuring the soothing island style melodies that have been captivating international audiences from Tokyo to New York. The meaning of HAPA, which loosely means "half" or "part" symbolizes the ingredients that make up the sound as it´s something of an amalgamation between traditional Hawaiian music and modern instrumentation. Today, HAPA is easily Hawaii´s most recognizable sound and has won numerous Na Hoku Hanohano Awards (Hawaii´s equivalent of the Grammy´s) since its self titled album release in 1993.
HAPA is an all sensory experience that represents one of Hawaii’s most imaginative and diverse groups with a performance that weaves rhythmic guitar sounds, poetic lyrics, soulful harmonies and hula into a complete Hawaiian dance and music showcase. Tickets are available online for this Saturday´s performance at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center which begins at 7:00 p.m.
